Welcome to my new blog.
Over the last few weeks I have been setting up my new “blog” site using DotNetNuke. My previous site used BlogEngine.NET – an excellent ASP.NET blogging platform. However, I have decided it is time to move to a new DotNetNuke based site.
This is for many reasons.
The first reason is obvious. As an employee of DotNetNuke Corporation it is way past time to move – I initially chose BlogEngine.NET due to the deficiencies of the core DotNetNuke Blog module. But most of those have been fixed in the latest versions.
A second reason is that I want to do more with my personal site than just blog, and DotNetNuke as a robust Content Management System gives me that flexibility.
And finally, cost. I already manage a number of DotNetNuke sites and in order to use both BlogEngine and DNN I needed two hosting accounts, so now I am able to consolidate everything into a single hosting account.
I haven’t been very active this year – but I do hope to change that over the next few weeks and months.
